Deep Conditioning/ Protein Treatments

Most Important
Deep Condition!

Deep conditioners puts the moisture back. Containing moister bursting elements and proteins to both reinforce the hair cuticle and apply moisture to the strands. Should be used at least once or twice a week on damaged hair. Once hair regains its strength, deep conditioning frequencies then become a matter of personal choice. When deep conditioning there is usually a leave in time. But I leave mine in either 30 mins to a hour or over night. I want the bang for my buck!

  • Always DE-tangle hair after hair softens under water or after conditioning.
  • Drink lots of water!

Protein is beneficial for fine hair and for damaged or porous hair and is used in many deep conditioning treatments. But with so many different types of products that contain protein for hair, which one one do you choose?
  1. Look for hydrolyzed proteins in rinse-off products. These can penetrate hair and add strength and shine.
  2. Collagen is helpful in improving hair elasticity.
  3. Keratin is thought to be strengthening and improves manageability.
  4. Wheat protein adds strength and helps retain moisture.
  5. Soy protein and other plant proteins also have moisture-attracting (humectant) qualities.
  6. Silk protein tends to soften hair

To much protein can cause an overload. A protein overload can be damaging and irreversible so use wisely.
